Evgenija Zdravevska
Vocal Artist, World Music Performer & Cultural Heritage Curator
Evgenija Zdravevska is a Macedonian vocal artist best known under her stage name Zarina Prvasevda, where she has built her reputation as one of the most distinctive contemporary voices of Balkan and world music. Moving between authenticity and reimagined tradition, she explores the emotional and spiritual depth of folk songs through her critically acclaimed debut album “Eho,” released by Croatia Records and featuring 11 traditional songs in four languages. The album reached 9th place on the Balkan World Music Chart (Q3 2022) and helped establish her as one of the most listened-to world music artists in the region. Evgenija’s artistry is rooted in Eastern European and oriental vocal traditions, yet her music breathes with instrumental and rhythmic diversity, social sensitivity, and a deep connection to nature. Beyond the stage, she actively supports cultural and environmental causes, including campaigns to protect Šar Mountain, and travels through villages to meet Macedonian grandmothers, recording and preserving their songs and stories. She has sold out the Macedonian Philharmonic and performed on major stages and festivals across Europe, including WOMEX, OFF Fest, D-Festival, Budapest Ritmo, Balkan Trafik Festival, and many others. Through collaborations with musicians, choreographers, and filmmakers, and ongoing work on her second album, Evgenija continues to define a new, living voice for Macedonian musical heritage.
